Yesterday my sister, Bridget, turned 35. She and her sons, Courtney & Brendan, and my Mom and Dad came for the afternoon and evening. We had lunch with lots of chit~chat and laughter. Then later on we ordered pizza and had more chit~chat and laughter with our cake and ice cream. All in all it was a great day!
Although I am almost ten years older than Bridget, there's just the two of us and we are as close as any sisters or friends could be. Ever since the day she was born (when I was in the fourth grade) she's been a shining light in my world. I'll never forget going to school the day after her arrival feeling like I was floating on a cloud. I had waited a long time to be a big sister. Over the years I've been like her other mother at times as well. I have even been the one to bake all of her birthday cakes since she turned two. Now we are sisters, confidantes, and best friends. What a beautiful, intelligent woman she has grown into. I'm very proud of her and love her more with each passing year. This last one would be my Dad ~ evidence that some people really never do grow up! Sorry Dad, I just HAD to include it.
The kettle is always on and the air is filled with the sweet sound of laughter and the scent of roses. So~ come along, relax with a nice cup of tea, and maybe a bit of knitting, while we settle in for a good visit!

It was a little budding rose, Round like a fairy globe, And shyly did its leaves unclose ~ Hid in their mossy robe, But sweet was the light and spicy smell ~ It breathed from its heart invisible. Emily Bronte

~~ REJOICE! ~~
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Phillipians 4:4 & 5
You love roses ~ so do I. I wish the sky would rain down roses, as they rain from off the shaken bush. Why will it not? Then all the valley would be pink and white And soft to tread on. They would fall as light as feathers, smelling sweet; and it would be like sleeping and like waking, all at once! George Eliot
This December I celebrated my 25th anniversary with Scott, the love of my life! I have two beautiful grown daughters, Hilary who is 23 and Chelsea who is 20. I also have a gorgeous granddaughter, Gabriella, who was born to Chelsea in April of 2007. I have a very lively household consisting of both daughters, a granddaughter, three dogs, two cats, and four birds, and of course my husband!
I love to knit and crochet and teach others these skills as well. I enjoyed teaching both skills to my daughters and I'm living for the day Gabby is old enough to learn!
One of my favorite things to do while knitting or crocheting is listen to audio books.
The most recent excitement for me has been starting up my Etsy shop a couple of weeks ago.
I love life and enjoy my family and friends! Guess I should mention, I'm also a major animal lover, especially where dogs are concerned.
And to hit the high notes: at age 9 I became a big sister, at 15 I met my husband, at 16 I became a born again Christian,at 18 I became a hairdresser, at 19 I got married, at 21(and 23) I became a mother, at 32 I became a bank teller, then a vegetarian and at 42 I got to be a Grammy!
It was not in the Winter our loving lot was cast; It was the time of roses ~ We pluck'd them as we pass'd! That churlish season never frown'd on early lovers yet: O no ~ the world was newly crown'd With flowers when first we met! 'Twas twilight, and I bade you go, But still you held me fast; It was the time of roses ~ We pluck'd them as we pass'd! Thoman Hood
