A Smile On My Face

My dear friend Amy showed up at my door today with this lovely bunch of delicate little tulips.
Hearing a knock on my door, but not expecting anyone, I opened it and there she stood. She stepped in, thrust them at me, hugged me & away she went! What a breath of fresh air ~ the tulips AND the friend!
Thanks Amy!

The pretty square coffee pitcher was a Christmas gift I bought myself {I know ~ rather naughty!... but it WAS on sale... HONEST!} Don't you just love it?! Now you KNOW I had to HAVE it.
The cute little ducks, which Gabby sat and played with off & on all day, were another gift to self a few years ago. I found them in a hospital gift shop. I guess really the idea is to purchase something for the patient, but since I was there that day for a mammogram {or something utterly pleasant~I don't REALLY remember exactly what}, I decided I was the patient and, therefore, must have a little something! So, they found their way home with me. That was before there was a Gabby and now I am especially glad I bought them because she loves them so much.

Phoebe is another thing she loves so much. The two of them are partners in crime who keep this Grammy on her toes all day long. But they're so darn CUTE together that they get away with pretty much anything. No matter how long the day has been, their antics and Gabby's giggles send me off to bed with a smile on my face and a thankful heart!

Hello Danette, how lovely your tulips are!! I love the pitcher and the ducks, I had to laugh, I too shop at hospital gift store! Sometimes they have the most beautiful things, I found red and brown transfer ware and a beautiful glass bunny! And I really like the fact that you treat yourself, so good to know!! Your little helper is a little darling!!! Have fun!

Oh, I love tulips! How sweet of your friend to drop them off! Lookit those two stinkers plotting mischief! Don't all kids need an animal as their best friend? Mine was my parakeet, Larry Bird!

Ah, Danette a girl after my own heart!! Your excuses are so justifiable(since you put it that way). Love, the coffee pitcher,I am partial towards coffee! I want to say is there such thing asa coffee cozy? But the painting is so pretty(my favorite color), Lucky you to hear a knock and then get flowers. Looks like Miss Phoebe is soooo glad that she picked you! Gabby and pheobe will be great playmates forever more! Becky I love Larry boy, I bet Larry bird is fun, does he talk? Be blessed, today to all bloggers!

Hiya, Kathy!
Nope, Larry refused to talk. He did learn to repeat certain sounds, though. He could scream like a girl. Parakeets are harder to teach to talk unless you start when they are itty bitty babies. Larry is in bird heaven now. He died when I was in high school. Someday, I'll get another bird and we'll be best friends just like Larry Bird & I were. :)

Oh, sorry Becky I miss understood, thought you had Larry now. My brother had 2 green cheek conyers,1 was nice and 1 was mean. I had a couple, I was good friends with a few years back, they were real nice hippies and they raised all kinds of birds. They had a huge African Gray, She could talk and the sounds she made were un believable, she would copy noises from the TV, like sirens and race cars, it was so funny. They moved back to Boston, I really miss them.
