The pink hat Gabby is modeling for me is the one I made Chelsea for Christmas. Mommy is so busy with work and night school that I finally stuck it on Gabby's head for a picture. The green one just like it is a birthday present for a friend and the sweet little pink umbrella stitch hat was an order from my sister who has a baby shower to go to tomorrow. Hope she'll be able to drive over from Peoria this evening as planned to collect it. It just keeps snowing and snowing out there!
And now I really must get back to business. Between giving a private crochet lesson on Monday morning, teaching my Monday night class, and trying to keep up with several custom orders, I still haven't been able to finish the crocheted scarf I started a couple of weeks ago (the one Jose was trying to wear!). Plus I got a call from the yarn shop yesterday and have to run out to pick up a shawl someone wants a crocheted border added to. Actually, the plan is to make Chelsea run out to pick it up so I don't have to brave this weather. Those of you who know me well know I'm not that brave!!!
Now, if I could just figure out how to teach Gabby & these doggie babies how to wash dishes and do laundry my life would be a lot easier. Because who has time for housework?!

I love the pink hat, and I can just picture Chelsea wearing it. I'm jealous that Gabby's in her jammies! As soon as I get home, I'm jumping in a hot bath, putting my jammies on & crocheting the night away.
Actually, right now Gabby is gone and it's ME you should be jealous of! I'm in my pink flannel jammies with Phoebe curled up in my lap. I have the house to myself for about three more hours and am getting ready to relocate and pick up that scarf and go after it hot & heavy with a crochet hook while all these four legged babies are taking their morning nappies. Those darn dishes will just have to keep waiting!
P.S. Becky ~
I love your bird house picture. Is that in your back yard? And when do I get Kathy's hug from you? Join us tonight for a knit or crochet in your jammies session if you'd like. Hilary will be home for the evening and we both know how delighted Mistress Gabriella would be! I'll make you some steaming hot tea (are you tempted yet?).
I love these hats!! and Gabby's rosy cheeks! As far as a clean house I am still trying to figure out how your house looks so clean and shinny in all your photos. Tell the truth, do you have a maid? Promise I wont tell a soul. I clean and clean and clean some more, still everything looks crazy , to me!
My house looking clean in the photos is all smoke and lights Girl! And, yes, I do have a maid---his name is Scott. It may seem like the dogs are the spoiled ones here but really it's me! Actually, Hilary is the maid oftentimes also. Everyone is good to help (Chelsea is just super busy these days). We've gone 20 years backwords though with all the toy clutter. I try real hard to leave that out of most of the pictures. I did notice however in the background of some Christmas pictures I posted you can see the overflowing, sagging at the bottom toy box that adds such a lovely bit of decoration to my front room these days!
funny, when Bryan is left to tend to house and kids(which isnt often), the house is destroyed when I come home. he plays like they do, that is why he is the most fun!! He always says to me "why clean, you will just have to do it again tomorrow?" Girls do help better than boys, Scarlett helps, not Sam or Ryan. sam's room is down stairs, Thank-God, he is some what of a slob, but he says he knows where everything is at. Does Scott cook to? no wonder you are so happy in your jammies till noon, cuddling up with puppies, and knitting, WOW, what a life!
I have to admit it is a sweet life here! And Scott does occasionally cook. The best thing about him is that he's very neat and never leaves a mess. He helps out when and where he's needed and waits hand and foot on me, if I'm not feeling well especially. I knew when I laid eyes on him back when I was only 15 he was a keeper!
So see, really I'm the spoiled rotten one around here!!:)
gHa! Smoke & lights, my foot! Kathy, don't you believer her! Even when they claim the house is a disaster, it is far from it, toys and all!
Tonight sounds simply lovely! I think I just may take you up on that...
P.S. Yep, the birdhouse is in the backyard. My dad's friend, Jimmy, made it for me & Dad painted it. Nobody lives in it, but it sure looks good in an ice storm!
Ooo, Becky, I hope you do come this evening! If you don't come I will be forced to have a date with Marlon Brando and you will probably be forced to have a date with Ben Stiller. I'll tear myself away if you will.
I believe Becky, sorry Danette the proof is in the pictures! You better go to the p.j. party Becky, I dont know about Ben Stiller. Now Ben Stein might be interesting his dry sense of humor is appealing and he is so smart, the things you could learn. Hey Hillary is Marlon Brando a code name for any-one in particular?!
What? You'll tear yourself from Mr. Marlon Brando for little ol' me? Well, then that does it. Ben Stiller & his arm muscles get pushed to the back burner. (Remind me not to talk to store clerks about Ben Stiller's arm muscles. Oops, too late.)
Yeah, Kathy, the only time I've ever seen a kitchen full of dishes at the B's house is when they're being used or washed. Tee hee!
I love Ben Stein, too! His droll humor & dead-pan face cracks me up every time. But I'd still rather see Ben Stiller in all his cuteness! ;-D
I think some-one is a true Ben Stiller Fan! Well little miss spoiled pants(Danette), there is hardly ever a time you would see dishes in my sink either! Thats because I can load a dishwasher in no time flat! HA HA
"Little Miss Spoiled Pants" is it?!
You do dishes like my Mom does them. I don't have a dishwasher, but I do have some really nice pink Playtex gloves. I mean, after all, you don't expect Little Miss Spoiled Pants to ruin her manicure over some dirty dishes do you?
You crazy girls are keeping from that scarf I'm supposed to be crocheting. It'll be a miracle if it ever gets done. I got up and turned my back for 2 minutes in the kitchen a while ago and turned back to find Hilary's cat, Scout, curled up in the middle of the basket I'm using for that project. The scarf was, of course, underneath her FAT SELF! So now the chihuahua and one of the cats have tried to wear the same scarf. All I can say is I sure hope whoever ends up buying it doesn't read my blog! They may be one of those "I don't like animal hair" kind of people. I will make sure it is not hairy though!!! Or, maybe, I could try to pass it off as Alpaca or Angora hair!
Good morning, all! Thanks again for dinner & everything last night. As always, I had a delightful time at your house. And Chelsea, thanks again for the earrings! I love them!
Hugs and Moochie Kisses to you all!
I returned to the computer one to many times yesterday, didnt get done what I wanted but I had much fun blogging with yall. Danette momma knows best!! I dont blame Scout or Jose I would want to wrap myself in one of your scarfs too!! Especially with the temps. there, poor Jose' doesnt have much hair or body fat.
