New Baby!

Meet Phoebe, our new Baby. She came home with us on Friday afternoon and what a circus it was for a while! Sophie, the other dachshund, immediately thought she was her puppy, which was not at all what we expected. She has spent the weekend guarding her, especially from the cats who get told off rather viciously every time they get in Phoebes general vicinity.

Jose, on the other hand, reacted pretty much the way I figured he would. I sat in the kitchen floor with her on my lap and let the other dogs approach to greet her. Jose gave her one sniff, went behind my back and promptly puked on the floor. He still growls when she attempts to play with him. I'm sure he'll be better in a week or two (hopefully). He just can't see why he should have to share HIS mommy with anyone else.

Gabby is crazy about her except for when she gets on her blankie or attacks one of her toys. Then she has a hissy fit! She loves the puppy kisses though. And you'll see in one of the pictures that Gabby read a book to Phoebe so she could curl up in her bed and go night-night! It was ADORABLE!

As for the rest of us, we're smitten with her pretty little face and sweet green eyes. Of course they really are such babies at this point (she'll just be 8 weeks old tomorrow), and they require a lot of attention. She thinks she needs to be held most of the time and cries until someone provides a nice cozy lap for her to snuggle into. She also wakes me up about three times in the night to either wee wee or play. Plus ~ she obviously didn't get the memo that Mommy is NOT a morning person & prefers not to rise before the sun! Ah, the joys of motherhood!

In the last picture you can see the heart on her side. She's laying so the bottom of it's cut off, but it actually does come to a point. And her beige colored fur has a slight pink cast to it. Anyone who knows me knows how I love pink! (And how crazy I am about dogs!!!).

Phoebe is so pretty, isn't she? Your pictures turned out much better than mine did. She wouldn't hold still long enough to be in the picture!

Just watched the news and with yall's temperature I think Mommy needs to knit that new baby a sweater. Hey matching ones for Sophie and Gabby. That would be a great blog photo!

Oh, I agree with Kathy! How cute would the 3 babies look in matching sweater?!?!! And, it would give you some blogging material, so win-win!

Hey, uh, I've noticed your comments on here have been sparse lately, too. Come on, it's not like your potty-training two little girls now . . . oh, wait. Never mind. ;-D

Well Girls~
I'll just see if I can add a few knitted sweaters to my growing list of what I'm BEHIND in.
And, yes, the blogs are a bit scattered these days.--- One baby going on the "big girl potty" all of a sudden & another one going WHEREVER SHE DARN WELL PLEASES!
She does hit the wee wee pad MOST of the time, but Gabby's winning the race on this one.(In the toilet of course-not on the pad!)

Carey~
You just get yourself over here. It's time for Phoebe to meet her Auntie Carey. You know how crazy my other babies are about you! You haven't lived until you've had three of them on your lap while you try to knit or crochet (or get comfortable)!
