Make A Wish!

Yesterday my sister, Bridget, turned 35. She and her sons, Courtney & Brendan, and my Mom and Dad came for the afternoon and evening. We had lunch with lots of chit~chat and laughter. Then later on we ordered pizza and had more chit~chat and laughter with our cake and ice cream. All in all it was a great day!

Although I am almost ten years older than Bridget, there's just the two of us and we are as close as any sisters or friends could be. Ever since the day she was born (when I was in the fourth grade) she's been a shining light in my world. I'll never forget going to school the day after her arrival feeling like I was floating on a cloud. I had waited a long time to be a big sister. Over the years I've been like her other mother at times as well. I have even been the one to bake all of her birthday cakes since she turned two. Now we are sisters, confidantes, and best friends. What a beautiful, intelligent woman she has grown into. I'm very proud of her and love her more with each passing year.
This last one would be my Dad ~ evidence that some people really never do grow up! Sorry Dad, I just HAD to include it.

Hi Mr. Puffy!
It WAS fun! Happy Birthday to Steve next week. The cake was a new recipe (thrown together with lots of kitchen commotion & plenty of help from Gabby-so it wasn't the prettiest I've ever done!). But it tasted real yummy.
My Dad will love his moment in the spotlight!:)

I can see the closeness between the two of you. Bridget is just a doll, isn't she? She is not only beatiful on the outside, but on the inside as well. Her caring heart, sweet nature, and kind spirit are all splashed in with her humor and wit. You're blessed to have a sister like her!

Hi Bridget!
I showed my sister your blog yesterday so she could meet the Bridget who isn't related to me! She loved reading through some of your posts. I'll pass along your "happy birthday" to her.
My Dad's a real dandy!:)

Hello Long Lost Kathy in Georgia!
We don't want any of your peanut butter these days! And peanut butter is one of this vegetarians favorite foods!:(
I'll pass all your messages on to my family if they don't see them. They've enjoyed hearing all about you. Bridget & I were talking about you the other day. I've told my girls NOBODY could ever make me laugh like you!
Love You!!! Danette
